چکیده

Abstract Background Accurate sentinel lymph node (SLN) staging is essential for both prognosis and treatment in patients with breast cancer. However, the preoperative lymphoscintigraphy may fail to visualize SLN some patients. The purpose of this retrospective study was identify risk factors associated nonvisualization on lymphoscintigraphy. For single-center study, all data procedures from March 2011 April 2021 were collected reviewed Amsterdam UMC database. Results A total 1886 included study. rate 25.1% at 4 h post-injection. decreased 9.4% after reinjection. Multivariable analysis showed that age ≥ 70 years ( P < 0.001; OR: 2.27; 95% CI: 1.46–3.53), BMI 30 kg/m 2 = 0.031; 1.48; 1.04–2.12) nonpalpable tumors 0.004; 1.54; 1.15–2.07) independent predictors nonvisualization. Tumor location, brand radiopharmaceutical, injected dose volume, experience preparer administrator not None patient, tumor or tracer characteristics radiotracer Conclusions This shows cancer during are years, tumors. Our results support notion a very robust technique does depend radiotracer.

Nonvisualization of sentinel node by lymphoscintigraphy in advanced breast cancer

Previous studies have shown that an increased number of axillary lymph nodes with metastatic involvement is associated with nonvisualization of lymph nodes during lymphoscintigraphy. We report a case of nonvisualization of the sentinel node during lymphoscintigraphy in a female with advanced breast cancer to support this association. Although many factors can affect visualization of the sentine...

Predicting sentinel lymph node metastasis in breast cancer with lymphoscintigraphy.

OBJECTIVE Lymphoscintigraphy is an effective method for detecting sentinel lymph nodes (SLNs). However, the rate and degree of SLN detection is not uniform. We quantified SLNs detected with lymphoscintigraphy, and investigated correlations with factors that may influence detection. We then attempted to predict SLN metastasis from lymph node counts, comparing the predictions to subsequent biopsy...

Sentinel lymph node in cervical cancer

Background: Cervical cancer is the second most common type of cancer among women. Effective screening programs can help cancer detection in early phases and reduce death. Metastasis to lymph nodes is one of the most prognostic factors in patients who underwent surgery. Also, a positive result from pathology report alert oncologist as a cause of death. Sentinel lymph node biopsy has been widely ...

Nonvisualization of axillary sentinel node during lymphoscintigraphy: is there a pathologic significance in breast cancer?

UNLABELLED The aim of this study was to define the factors associated with nonvisualization of a sentinel node (SN) in the axilla area during preoperative lymphoscintigraphy. METHODS We retrospectively studied 332 women with T0, T1, or T2 <3-cm, N0 invasive breast cancer who underwent a sentinel lymph node biopsy procedure. All patients had intradermal and intraparenchymal injection of 37 MBq...

Arm lymphoscintigraphy after axillary lymph node dissection or sentinel lymph node biopsy in breast cancer

PURPOSE Compare the lymphatic flow in the arm after breast cancer surgery and axillary lymph node dissection (ALND) versus sentinel lymph node biopsy (SLNB) using lymphos-cintigraphy (LS). PATIENTS AND METHODS A cross-sectional study with 39 women >18 years who underwent surgical treatment for unilateral breast cancer and manipulation of the axillary lymph node chain through either ALND or SL...
